It’s my privilege to welcome you to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Government Arts College, affiliated to Pondicherry University (a central university), Puducherry. Our College has an unfathomable history in laying foundations in academics over a period of 48 years since 1973. This college is established with a vision to transform the lives of people in the region. The college came into existence with a vision of creating a sturdy and conducive environment for the students to afford a perfect balance of academics, sports and social opportunities.

Our institution has been playing a critical role in the socio-economic developments of the rural areas in and around Yanam. The primary aim of Dr.S.R.K.G.A.C is the scholastic development of the weaker and down-trodden sections of the society. The Institution offers an excellent academic atmosphere to fulfil the dreams and ambitions of students. The College empowers the students to become ideal citizens who are capable to adapt to the ever-changing global environment and execute their duties with utmost perfection.

Our College is committed to impart skills and knowledge either to pursue higher studies or to get through competitive exams. The curriculum and the teaching-learning methods empower them to develop the learners’ morale, Self-awareness and Self-reliance. We believe in giving our students strong values along with a set of wings that can carry them far and wide. In other words, our students are equipped to face the propelling challenges of the dynamic world.

I am delighted as the institute is accredited by NAAC as ‘B’ Grade College. The college presently offers 8 UG and 4 PG courses under CBCS. Both Arts and Science departments are conducting bridge courses, seminars, conferences and workshops in their respective discipline to provide a unique platform to the learners’ in that particular field. Apart from curriculum activities, we have National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), Red Ribbon Club (RRC), Literary Club, Eco club, Cultural & Fine Arts Club and Student’s co-operative store which would provide our stakeholders a training ground to meet the challenges in life and increase civic sense amongst them. We have well- equipped laboratories, central & department libraries with a gamut of books and also Gym in Physical Education. The students are beneficiaries in receiving various scholarships as implemented by the Government of India and Government of Puducherry.
