About the Department:
The department was started during 2000-2001 with an intake of 10 students which is increased to 40 subsequently at the entry level. The department is headed by Thiru. Kola Surya Prakash.
Vision:
- To generate competent professionals to become part of the industry and research organizations at the national and international levels.
Mission:
- Providing a strong theoretical and pracical background across the computer science discipline with an emphasis on software development.
- Imparting the skills necessary to continue education to grow professional.
- Empowering the youth in rural communities with computer education.
- Inculcating professional behavior, strong ethical values, innovative research capabilities and leadership abilities.

Departmental Activities:
- The Department of Computer Science is actively involved in developing the competitive spirit besides imparting the knowledge in the concerned subjects of the students:
- The Department assigns the students to submit the unit wise assignments, and conducts weekly, monthly tests & seminars for all the three-year students accordingly the Internal Assessment Marks are awarded.
- The Remedial Coaching is being given to the identified weak students from the SC, OBC and Minority communities to bring them to the higher levels of understanding.
- The department of computer science conducted seminar on “Overview of Micro Services, API and Cloud Computing Technologies “dated 25-03-2019 by Mr. Rosariao Paul Arokiaraj Associate Manager Accenture Sol Pvt Ltd from Chennai.
- Mini project and main projects are carried out regularly for final year students V and VI Semesters.
Future Plans:
- To organize Programmes like State/ National level seminars and workshops, talks and guest lectures by eminent personalities in the areas of Information Technology.
- To avail placement services to the B. Sc. Computer Science students.
- To arrange more industrial visits especially to Computer firms.
- To handle the research oriented and real time projects
- To extend the lab with more (50) systems having higher configuration and internet facilities
